ARCHAEOLOGICAL <br /> By:i James Gromberg, <br /> <br />CASE <br /> <br />STUDY FOR THE PROPOSED SUNWOOD DRIVE N.W. <br /> Economic Development Coordinator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City has subrr~itted an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the proposed section <br />of Sunwood Dri',}e N.W. between Krypton Street N.W. and County Road #116. In the <br />completion of the ~eview period for the EAW, the Minnesota Historical Society has requested that <br />the City complete lan archaeological survey for the construction area. In the past, these surveys <br />were completed u~der the State contract with no discemable cost to the City. MNDOT has since <br />changed this polic~ and now requires the Regulating Governmental Unit to arrange these surveys. <br />As the attached le~[ter indicates, the City has requested proposals from 14 of the State-approved <br />consultants for the!study. <br /> <br />The City has, at th~ date of this writing, received three proposals ranging from $2,239 to $4,800 <br />for the survey of tt~e site.
