PARK/UTILITIES REPORT FOR MAY 1994 <br />By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br /> <br />Significant Parks Occurrences <br /> <br />· Several hundred seedling trees and shrubs heeled in for later planting by job service vouth <br /> and pan-time workers in parks. <br /> <br />· Soccer and softball field striping began. <br /> <br />· Riverd',.de Park playground staked and graded for play equipment installation. <br /> <br />· Vandal resistant shutters manufactured for school warming house. <br /> <br />· Moved fishing pier (for the last time - new system to be employed). <br /> <br />· Highway beautification planting completed and successful, including the addition of <br /> landscaping at a commercial site not originally scheduled (no expense to the City). 1.,,639 <br /> trees, shrubs, and perennials phmted. <br /> <br />· Vandalized backstops and base boxes repaired. <br /> <br />· Solstice Park plan and budget approved. <br /> <br />· Fishing pier abutment and landscaping completed. <br /> <br />· City Hall grounds fertilized and treated for broadleaf control. <br /> <br />· Significant repairs to irrigation system at Central Park completed by contractor. <br /> <br />· Weeldy athletic field striping turned over to RYAA. <br /> <br />· Draft Trail and Park Plan prepared with consultant. <br /> Backstops staked at Riverdale, Emerald Pond, and Flintwood Terrace Parks. <br /> <br />· Flintwood Terrace batlfield construction completed with the exception of seeding and back <br /> stop installation. <br /> <br />Significant Water and Sewer System Occurrences <br /> <br />· Fluoride, lead and copper testing of water performed. <br /> <br />· Odd/even sprinkling ban implemented. <br /> <br />· Pump #1 reconditioned and returned to service (flow increased approximately 20 gallons <br /> per minute). <br /> <br />· 27 Water meters installed. <br /> <br />· One commercial water permit issued. <br /> 197 requests for locates proccessed by C/ty Staff. <br /> <br />/CCT <br /> <br /> <br />
