CASE # <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT FOR A TEMPORARY <br />STRUCTURE; CASE OF CITY WIDE GARAGE DOOR COMPANY, INC. <br />By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Ivan Clauson of City Wide Garage Door has submitted an application for an interim use permit to <br />place a temporary, structure at 6845 Highway #10 N.W. The structure is approximately 648 square <br />feet in size and Will be used to replace office space damaged by fire until the principal building on <br />the property is repaired <br /> <br />Following the f'~e on June 14, Mr. Clauson found himself in an emergency situation and in <br />immediate need~f office space on the site in which to try to carry on business actiVities and <br />coordinate repairs to the building. In order to accommodate his immediate needs in an emergency <br />situation, City Staff gave Mr. Clauson permission to bring a temporary office structure onto the <br />site prior to any !action by the Planning Commission and City Council. This pre-approval was <br />contingent upon Mr. Clauson entering into an agreement and depositing a $500 financial guarantee <br />with the City to eOsure timely removal of the temporary structure in the event the permit application <br />is denied or upon the expiration date established in an approved permit. Mr. Clauson signed the <br />agreement and prOvided the $500 financial guarantee. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) <br />b) <br />c) <br />d) <br />e) <br /> <br />Site location map <br />Site plan <br />Pr~ -agreement <br />Proposed findings of fact <br />Proposed interim use permit <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />On July 5, 1994, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing and there were no verbal or <br />written comments submitted pertaining to the request. <br /> <br />Mr. Clauson is not required to go through the site plan process to reconstruct the building on the <br />property. However, the building will have to be brought into conformance with City Code and the <br />exterior facing finish on the building must be 100% other than metal. <br /> <br />RecommendatiOn: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission and City Staff recommend approval of the interim use permit. <br /> <br />Council Action' <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />.Adopt Re~!olution/694-07 adopting Findings of Fact 4/ relating to a request for an <br />~ntenm usc permit for a temporary structure from City Wide Garage Door Company. <br /> <br />-and- <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Approve/deny the request for an interim use permit for a temporary structure from City <br />Wide Gar~/ge Door Company and adopt Resolution #94-07- declaring terms of same. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />CC: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />City Engineer <br />Building Official <br />7/26/94 <br /> <br /> <br />
