PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted hearing on Tuesday, July 5, 1994 at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Centeri 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input regarding a <br />request for a conditional use permit for an accessory apartment in the R-1 Rural Residential <br />District; case of Rebecca Jackson. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Ben Deemer <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Terry Hendriksen <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawdcn called the public heating to order at 7:56 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that Rebecca Jackson has applied for a condifonaI use permit <br />(CUP) to maintain-an accessory apartment in her home at 15720 Kangaroo Street N.W. She <br />explained that Ms. Jackson proposes to lease the lowest floor of her 3-level split as a one-bedroom <br />accessory apartment with its own kitchen and bath facilities, and noted there is sufficient room in <br />the driveway for off-street parking along with the renter being allowed one stall in the garage for <br />indoor parking. <br /> <br />Applicant Rebecca jackson explained that she moved to Ramsey from South Minneapolis with the <br />intent to rent out part of her home to help finance it. She stated that the previous owners of the <br />home were a family, of five, and now it is just her (and hopefully one renter). She added that she <br />has only one car with a two-car garage, yet most of her neighbors have 3-4 cars. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Ben Moss, 8320 157th Lane N.W. - inquired about the duration of the CUP. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik stated the CUP would remain in effect for as long as Ms. Jackson owns the property. <br /> <br />Mr. Moss inquired Whether the zoning would remain single family. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik stated it would remain single family with a CUP for special use. <br /> <br />Mr. Moss described 'the house floor plan and inquired whether the apartment would have its own <br />kitchen area, and Ms. Frolik provided him with a copy of the proposed floor plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Moss inquired as to the type of separate entry being provided for the renter. <br /> <br />Public Hearing/Planning Commission/July 5, 1994 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
