AddJfionaliy, the Commission ~s chart_,e_,d with addin~ the year 2,000 to this plan. in preparation for this discussion, I would like to update you on issues related to this discussion. _RTAA Concerns/B~scb2l} - Softball On June 28, 1994, the Ramsey Youth Athletic Association addressed Counci] regardin,~ maintenance and development concerns in Central Park.. Regarding development the}, estimated that they will need '7t games sims in !995, 82 in 1996, 91 in 1997 and 102 in !998 for baseball./softbali. The cu~ent four-day schedule at Cenn-al, Titterud and Rivers Bend Parks allows for 80. A fly,-da',, schedule would allow for 92 to 103. Adding lights to a field adds one slot per scheduled day. RYAA suggested uuyins the 55 acres east of Cenn'-al Park [about 2200.000]. It appears we could r'h~ five permanent baseball/softball fields, two soccer/football fields and parking on the expansion. .Soccer ... The Anoka Soccer Association had 11 teams in 1993, 16 in t99.4 and they project 20 in 1995. They have requested two more fields for ! 995. Emerald Pond should be available and Tirterud could be used with the rmrchase of goals. A concern would again exist for additional fields in thc future. _Ramsev Eiement~w Schod Anoka-Hennepin District #1 ] is just starring their site design process for the Rarnsey Element. a.D2 School expansion. Unknown at this rime is the impact on any recreariona~ facilities.
