Gity of Ramsey <br /> 15~153 NOWTHEN BOULEVARD N.W., RAMSEY, MINNESOTA 55303 <br /> <br />PHONE (612) 427-1410 FAX (612) 427-5543 <br /> TTD (612) 427-8591 <br /> <br />September 12, 15994 <br /> <br />Richard Koppy ! <br />RLK Associates:Ltd. <br />922 Main Street <br />Hopkins, MN 5:5343 <br /> <br />RE: Request {or Proposal for Engineering Services for the Extension of <br /> Sewer an~ Water Trunks to Service Anoka Electric Cooperative Expansion Site <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Koppy} <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey requests a proposal from your firm for engineering services to provide the <br />extension of sani~tary sewer and municipal water to an industrial site located in the Western Half of <br />Section 27, Township 32, Range 25, which will be developed by Anoka Electric Cooperative for <br />their new maintenance facility. <br /> <br />Please find enclosed a sketch illustrating the approximate routes for the utility extensions. Below <br />is some additioral information to assist you with your proposal. It is proposed that a 30-inch <br />interceptor sanit$.ry sewer will be extended for approximately 4,8~00 feet to the site. An l g-inch <br />tributa.D, sanitaB sewer will be extended into the site. The sanitary sewer will be placed through <br />areas which are inot currently dedicated fight-of-way. Easement descriptions will need to be <br />prepared for th¢ise areas. The depth of the sewer will initiate at an elevation of 838.7 and <br />topography is prtivided on the enclosed aerial photogTaph wNch will allow for determination of the <br />relative depths, ilt should also be noted that the sanitary sewer will extend through a property <br />which has been!the previous site of a concrete manufacturer. Borings should be strongly <br />considered through this area to determine the underlying soil condition as well as ground water <br />levels. The exm~sion of approxdimately 6.400 feet of watermain will follow a separate route, <br />primarily along ~;ounty Road #116. This w;~termain is anticipated to be 16 inches in diameter, as <br />indicated by the ~ktached sketch. <br /> <br />The site layout o? the Anoka Electric Cooperative is uncertain at the time of this proposal. The <br />consultants will need to coordinate efforts with AEC and their engineers to determine the exact <br />service requiremdnts and utility locations within the development parcel. <br /> <br />B. ASIC SERVICES <br /> <br />The consultant she'll provide the following basic engineering services: <br /> <br />· Preparation o~ plans and specifications for the extension of sanitaU, sewer and watem~ain. <br />· Identify and p~epare legal descriptions for easements required outside dedicated rights-of-way. <br />· Address reqmrements for dewatering and Count), Highway permits associated with the <br /> construction. <br />· Prepare nece~.sary submittal information to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the <br /> Department o¢~ Health. <br />· Prepare final ctost estimate. <br />· Solicit and obtain bids. <br /> <br /> <br />
