Councilmember Wise introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #11 -07 -135 <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE PAID -ON -CALL FIREFIGHTERS <br />WHEREAS, staff would like to bring the City to a full complement of firefighters, and <br />WHEREAS, staff has requested that the Personnel Committee make a motion <br />recommending that the City Council hire Ms. Jackie Soltvedt and Mr. Timothy Flickinger as <br />paid -on -call Firefighter, and <br />WHEREAS, these individuals would be hired at an hourly wage of $12.88 and would <br />begin employment on August 10, 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, these individuals have successfully completed all background checks, <br />assessments, and medical exams. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br />Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br />1) Hire the following four individuals as paid -on -call firefighters: Ms. Jackie Soltvedt and <br />Mr. Timothy Flickinger. These individuals would be hired at an hourly wage of $12.88 <br />and would begin employment on August 10, 2011. Each individual named in this <br />resolution will serve a one -year probationary period and all other personnel policies will <br />apply normally. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Tossey, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Tossey <br />Councilmember Backous <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />
