Councilmember Backous introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #11 -08 -149 <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING FUNDING FROM THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION THROUGH THE METRO MUNICIPAL AGREEMENT PROGRAM <br />FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is requesting financial participation in the project from <br />the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) through the Metro Municipal Agreement <br />Program for fiscal year 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey must commit to providing the local share of the costs if <br />the project is selected as part of the Metro Municipal Agreement Program for fiscal year 2013. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />That the City of Ramsey is hereby requesting funding from MnDOT through its Metro Municipal <br />Agreement Program for fiscal year 2013 for the following candidate project: <br />Construction of a frontage road along the south side of Trunk Highway 10; including the <br />extension of Riverdale Drive NW from its current terminus, approximately 550 feet east of <br />Alpaca Street NW, to Traprock Street NW. This roadway will be constructed with one lane of <br />traffic in each direction, and meet state aid design standards. Improvements are also proposed <br />along Trunk Highway 10 to construct acceleration, deceleration, and turn lanes. The existing full <br />access at Traprock Street NW will be reduced to a three- quarter access to restrict northbound to <br />westbound left turns. Further access management with this project includes the removal of the <br />existing median opening at 7665 Highway 10 NW, and the closure of the existing right -in, right - <br />out condition at Alpaca Street NW. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Wise and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Backous <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Tossey <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />
