CASE

DISCUSSION OF DESIGNATING ADDITIONAL MSA MILEAGE
By: Steven Jankowski, C~ty Engineer

Background:

Each year the~ City receives approximately $4zl0,(K~ in State Aid to support and develop its
MSAS road System~ One-half of the amount we receive is based upon the estimated cost of
the needs to bring our designated system up to MSA standards. Greater needs result in a
proporfionateJy higher apportionment. With last year's construction activity, thc City is
eligible to fle~ignate an additional 0.46 miles to our system~

Proposed changes to the MSAS system should be received by the State Aid District
Engineer by iMarch 1, 1994. I will have a map of the current State Aid system at the
meeting and be prepared to solicit input on where to designate the additional mileage. A
formal resolu~on for changes to the mileage will be needed by May 1, 1994.

Committee :Action:

Based upon discussion.

Reviewed by:

City Engineer

R&B: 02/08/94

Copies also distributed to:
City Adminislrator
