RESOLUTION NO. XXXX -XX <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RAMSEY TO PARTICIPE IN THE MULTI - <br />JURISDICTIONAL ANOKA COUNTY HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN <br />WHEREAS, on January 23, 2007 Ramsey City Council adopted the Anoka County Multi - <br />Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan completed on November 28, 2006; and, <br />WHEREAS, FEMA formally approved the Anoka County Hazard Mitigation Plan in 2007 and <br />requires the plan to be reviewed and updated every five years; and, <br />WHEREAS, the current plan is up for review and re- approval by FEMA in 2012; and, <br />WHEREAS, participation in the All Hazard Mitigation Plan is required for a community to receive <br />federal disaster assistance; and, <br />WHEREAS, approval of the All Hazard Mitigation Plan will make the county eligible to receive <br />Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) project grants, including potentially some projects <br />benefiting the City of Ramsey and its residents. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Ramsey, Minnesota that <br />as a potential participant in the Hazard Mitigation Assistance Program, the City of Ramsey, <br />Minnesota hereby states their interest in participating in the multi jurisdictional All- Hazard <br />Mitigation plan by identifying hazards and prioritizing potential projects to mitigate the effects <br />of natural hazards. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that after FEMA funding approval and during the plan <br />implementation, the City of Ramsey, Minnesota agrees to participate in the hazard mitigation <br />planning process. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as signed, the City understands this is a voluntary program and <br />our participation may benefit our jurisdiction by identifying hazards and prioritizing projects to <br />mitigate the effects of natural hazards. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY THIS 25 DAY OF <br />OCTOBER, 2011. <br />Jo Thieling, City Clerk Robert Ramsey, Mayor <br />
