The b~nefine, d residents will also be <br />provide, d w4th the EAW. <br /> <br />Case ~): North Metro Mayors Association Membership <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that in September 1993, Andover, Anoka, Chm'nplin, <br />Dayton and Ramsey met to discuss different issues. One discussed was the North Metro <br />Mayors Associa~.on (NM_MA). T-ne City of R~rnsey had put the NN'i~tA on notice that it <br />might not mnewr xes membership. Rmmsey Council reviewed the membership fees which <br />were being eh?yet by Andover, Anoka and Ham Lake. These three cities received <br />significant subsides in theh- rate. Approximately 50 percent of the organization receives <br />subsidies. At g subsequent Council meeting, Council made a motion to continue <br />membership to the NrMMA at the same rate ms that of the City. of Andover. Mr. Schroc. der <br />sent a letter to the executive director of NM_MA reouesfing the sa_me subsidy as that of <br />Andover. NMMA recommended no such considera~/on be given to the City bf Ramsey, <br />therefore, Staff is recommending that. R.a. msey not be members of NMMA in t994. <br /> <br />Councitmember Zimmerman stated that the NMM_A is a good.' spokesman and that the CiD, <br />did get some local government mid.
