Directional Signs. Directional or instructional signs are restricted <br />to on-site direcfiori and instruction, with the exception of governmental signs, temporary real estate <br />signs and public &ent signs, and shall not exceed four (4) square feet in size. Such signs shall <br />only provide direc{ion or instruction to guide persons to facilities intended to serve the public. <br /> <br />Subd. <br /> [ <br />a. <br /> <br />13. Maintenance. <br /> <br />The surface and structure of alt signs must be kept refinished as necessary <br />to prevent the sign surface from becoming unkempt in appearance. The <br />Zoning Administrator shall use the following guidelines to determine if the <br />sign is unkempt: evidence of rust, peeling paint, structural damage, <br />message damage, and/or weathering. <br /> <br />When any sign for which a permit is required is removed, the Zoning <br />Administrator shall be notified and the entire sign and its components shall <br />be removed <br /> <br />Co <br /> <br />The permit owner shall be responsible for all of the requirements of this <br />section, including the liability for expense of removal and maintenance <br />incurred by the City. <br /> <br />Sub& 14. Sign Content <br /> <br /> a. No sign shall contain obscene images or statements in violation of <br /> ~ Minnesota Statute 617.241. <br /> <br />9.12.04 Prohibited Signs <br /> <br /> Subd. 1. "A" Frame or Sandwich Board Signs. "A" Frame or Sandwich <br />Board signs are prohibited. <br /> <br /> Sul~d. 2. Whirling Devices, Searchlights, Streamers, Balloons and <br />Other Gas Fille~Figures. Whirling devices, searchlights, streamers, balloons, and other gas <br />filled figures, arei prohibited except as a temporary sign as provided for in Section 9.12.05 <br />(Temporary Signs). <br /> <br /> SuIM. 3. Flashing signs. Flashing signs are not permitted in any district <br />except as provide4 for in 9.12.03, S ubd. 7 (General Provisions - rnuminafion). <br /> <br /> Sul?d. 4. Portable signs. Portable signs are prohibited except as temporary <br />signs as provided for in Section 9.12.05 (Temporary Signs). <br /> <br /> Sul~d. 5. Projecting signs. No projecting sign shall be permitted in any <br />disndct. <br /> <br /> Su§d. 6. Roof signs. Roof signs are prohibited in any zoning district. <br /> <br /> Sul~d. 7. Signs on parked vehicles. Signs painted or mounted on or <br />attached to vehicles, trailers or equipment where the apparent primary purpose of the vehicle or <br />equipment is to di3play said sign are prohibited.
