In addition to those signs permitted or required in all districts as described in Section 9.12.03 <br />(General Provisions) and 9.12.05 (Temporary Signs), the following signs are permitted in each <br />specific district and shall be regulated as to size, location and character according to the <br />requirements herein set forth. <br /> <br />9.12.07 Residential Type Districts <br /> <br /> Subd. 1. Area Identification Signs. One (1) sign per vehicular access to a <br />development, not to exceed thirty-two (32) square feet in area is permitted. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. Temporary Signs. Temporary signs are permitted in accordance <br />with Section 9.12.05. <br /> <br />9.12.08 Business Type Districts <br /> <br />Subd. 1. Business Use Signs <br /> <br />Wall, Canopy or Marquee Sign. Total sign area may not exceed fifteen <br />percent (15%) of the front building facade. At least fifty percent (50%) of <br />the signage area must be placed on the measured wall with remaining <br />signage area, if desired, distributed on any other wail or walls. Sign height <br />shall not exceed the top of the parapet wall or, if no parapet wall, sign <br />height shall not exceed the height of the eaves. The gross surface area of a <br />wall, canopy or marquee sign may be increased by ten percent if such wall <br />sig'n: <br /> <br />consists only of individual, outlined alphabetic, numeric and/or <br />symbolic characters without background except that provided by the <br />building surface to which the sign is to be affixed; and <br /> <br />illumination, if any, is achieved through shielded illumination, <br />shielded silhouette lighting, or shielded spot lighting but not any <br />lighting where the light source is visible or exposed on the face or <br />sides of the characters. <br /> <br />A wall, canopy or marquee sign may be located on the outermost wall of <br />any principal building but shall not project more than sixteen (16) inches <br />from the wall to which the sign is to be affixed. A wail sign shall not <br />project higher than the parapet line of the wall to which the sign is to be <br />affixed. <br /> <br />Ground Sign. There shall not be more than one (I) ground sign for each <br />parcel. The gross surface area of a ground sign shall not exceed one <br />hundred (100) square feet for each exposed face nor exceed an aggregate <br />gross surface area of two hundred square feet. <br /> <br />Co <br /> <br />Service Bay Identification Signs.' Service bay identification signs providing <br />direction or instruction to persons using the facility and containing no <br />advertising mater/al of any kind shall be subject to the following: <br /> <br />1.
