CASE # 2~ REQUEST FOR~ AN EXTENSION TO CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR HOME OCCUPATION; CASE OF STEVEN HAIGH By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik Background: On November 27, 'r1990, the City of Ramsey issued a conditional use permit for a home occupation to Steven Haigh fd}r the purpose of establishing a trophy/plaque business in his residence at 14151 Germanium Street N.W. In an effort to encourage eventual relocation of the business to a commercial distri&, the conditional use permit was written with a 3 year expiration period under the provisions of ~ection 9.03.04 (Conditional Use Permits). Mr. I-Iaigh's conditional use permit expired on Decem~x:r 31, 1993. Observations: On January 11, 1994, the City of Ramsey received a written request from Steven Haigh for a 3 year extension t~ the conditional use permit. Mr. Haigh explains that he has invested in computerized equipment and is not in a financial position at this time to relocate the business to a commercial zone. r In the 3 years that ~/l.r. Haigh's conditional use permit has been in effect, the Ciw has received no written or verbal complaints about the business activities at 14151 Germanium Street N.W.
