Once the exact alignment is known, legal descriptions will be
prepared and the City can proceed with the acquisition process. The City anticipates
construction of phase I by September 1994, for Sunwood Drive N.W. Mr. Jankowski
stated that the City has retained Evergreen Land Services, Inc. to provide such acquisitions
for two current City projects, the #116 Bikeway Trail Corridor and the 153rd/155th avenue
N.W. extension. He requested authorization to amend the contract with Evergreen
Services to include the appraisal/acquisition for the properties within the Sunwood Drive
road alignment. The amount would not exceed $8,500, unless eminent domain
proceedings would be required.

Mr. Deemer cautioned that May 25, 1994, is the earliest date the City could do anything.
He added that if he and the City come to terms with regard to the alignment, it would not be
necessary to appraise his property.

City Council/May 10, 1994
