Memorandum <br />May 19, <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />TRAIL pLAN CHAILACTERISTICS <br /> <br />Claesification of trail facilities into four groups: <br />· ~)n-l{oad (Type A); a paved shoulder <br />· On-Road (Type B); a paved path within the roadway right-of-way, but <br /> s~eparated from the road and shoulder by a curb and grass strip <br />· Off-Road; 35 feet wide to accommodate bikers, joggers, walkers, nature <br /> hikes, cross-country skiing, etc. Located within and outside the Urban <br /> Service Area <br />· Off-Road Multi-Purpose; 75 feet wide and located outside the Urban Ser~-ice <br /> Area. The off-road trails would be multi-purpose facilities (biking, walking, <br /> skiing, etc.), equestrian, and snow-mobiling. <br /> <br />Extension of the Trott Brook Multi-Purpose Trail system to the east from TH <br />47 ~o the Rum River. <br /> <br />On-Zoad and off-road trail linkages between as many park destinations as <br />possible. <br /> <br />On-road and off-road linkages between the residential neighborhoods and the <br />Ramsey Elementary School. <br /> <br />On-road trail facilities between the residential neighborhoods and acti~,iW <br />centers south of 153rd Avenue. <br /> <br />On-road trail (Type B) facilities where opportunities e:dst to obtain sufScient <br />rigt~t-of-way through acquisition or dedication. <br /> <br />Loop design in off-road, multi-purpose trails. <br /> <br />Trail linkages between residential areas and lake shore amenities. <br /> <br /> <br />
