i)

Does your family usc area parks? If so, which parks? Which park ac.vjties does your family participate in? ,

Once we went to Tltterude Park to use the ch[Iclren's play equipment. Because of the need to drive, we
just haven't used area parks as much as we'd like. Also, It's difficult to bike to neighborhood parks tror~
our development. Consequently, we installed swings In our yard, and bike within the cievelopment (have
to avoid Highway 47 - it's a deathtrap[).

2)

Does your family include children? Wha! are lheLr ages?

We have two children - ages 4 and 2.

3)

What types of park facilities would best serve your family? How do you anticipate the Fox Ridge Neighborhood Park will be
used by your family?

The primary benefit of a neighborhood park to our family would be to have equipment that the children
can play on (slides, swings, jungle gym, etc.), and areas for walking, biking and rollerbiading. I also
think a picnic area where the kids could bring a picnic lunch and go to the park would be greatJ

4)

I have listed some of the potential ideas for developing the park. Please indicale which facilities most/least interesl you.

A) Children's play equipment. YES! This is an absolute priority[
I) swings. Yes.
2) junglegym complex. Amust!
3) stide. Amust!
4) sandbox. A must!
5) cement tunnel. This would be fun!
6) others (please specify) Anything the budget allows!l!

B) Outdoor exercise circuit. Not for our family.

C) Marsh boardwalk and wildlife viewing facilities YES! YES!

D) Namralistinterpretiveinformation/signs/. Yes, eventua!.!y,
the marsh[ .;"

Picnic shelter and/or picnic tables. YES'!

Horseshoes. Not a priority for us.

E)

o)

YES! Love this idea! Is it possible????!!!
But first let's get the boardwalk through

Canoe Access Point. I don't think this is possible. But if it is, it would be nice, but not an
immediate priority.

Vo!!eyballCourc Not for my family.

Others (please specify). Grill? Bike racks? As much open space as possible. Landscape
improvement? Its a bit sparse - could use a shade tree or two.

$)

6)

What, in your opinion, should the focus of this park be?

Focus on families with young children and take advantage of the natural marsh. Emphasis should be
placed on the preservation of the marsh and its quiet bea'uty, tt's a wonderful place to visit - it's filled
with life! Lots of turtles, birds and bugs! Also, from my observations, tots of the neighbors walk, bike,
stroll with their infants, and rollerblade,.so some sort of path that would allow for these activities to
gravitate toward the park for maximum use would be a nice feature.

Additional comments arid/or suggestions?.

Thank you for the opportunity to express our thoughts and opinions. My husband and I appreciate
having a voice in your planning[ I look forward to seeing a neighborhood park in the future!
