TREE - any self supporting woody plant, usually having a single woody trunk, and a <br />potential DBH of two (2") inches or more. <br /> <br />TREE PROTECTION PLAN - plan established in Section IV (B) of the Tree Conservation <br />Policy. <br /> <br />TREE CONSERVATION POLICY - guideline adopted or amended by the City of Ramsey <br />Council to regulate and provide standards for the conservation of trees through <br />development and construction process within the City of Ramsey, <br /> <br />UTILIZATION AND DISPOSAL PLAN - plan for vegetative material and topsoil on-site <br />remediatlon management as established in Section IV (B) of the Tree Conservation Policy. <br /> <br />WILDFIRE HAZARD PLAN - plan as established in Section IV (B) of the Tree <br />Conservation Policy. <br /> <br />WOODLOT - any wooded or partially wooded area with significant trees. <br /> <br />IV. Procedures <br /> <br />A Development Standards. Developments shall be designed to preserve large trees <br />and woodlots where such preservation would not affect the public health, safety or welfare. <br />The City may prohibit removal of all or part of a woodlot or stand of trees. Appropriate <br />disease control measures shall be required. Nothing in this policy shall prevent building on <br />an existing lot of record, provided that such building shall be designed to save as many <br />trees as possible. This decision shall be based on, but not limited to, the following criteria: <br /> <br />Size and significance of woodlot tree(s). <br />Species, health and condition of the trees in. cl])ding: <br /> <br />sensitivity to disease <br />life span <br />nuisance characteristics <br />sensitivity to grading <br />value to adjoining properties <br />appearance (welt-developed crown and form) <br />wildlife habitat value <br /> <br />3. Potential <br />4. Need for <br />5. Effect on <br /> <br />for wansplanting. <br />thinning a woodlot (ie for wildfke hazard management). <br />the functioning of a development. <br /> <br />Tree Protection Plan <br />l. A Tree Protection Plan shall be submitted with the following: <br /> a. Sketch plan shall show all stands of significant trees. <br /> b. Preliminary plat or sketch, plan for the subdivision of <br /> property. <br /> c. Other permit drawings as a pm.of the Building Permit <br /> process. ,~ <br /> d. Commercial Site Plans, either' as'.a separate drawing or as <br /> part of the Landscape Plan. <br /> <br /> <br />
