In every inventory there will be some interesting data that should
be regarded with skepticism. In 1992 Catalpa was found to be a
component of the forest. It is a fine shade tree, but it may not
occur in the numbers indicated. Also, in the bur oak cover type,
only one sample point was taken and the species found were not bur
oak. This data is not significant.

Diversity

A total of 21 different species of trees were found in samples in
the 1992 inventory. 18 were found in 1979. Only 6 field samples
were taken in 1979, this may be a reason for the difference in
'species. Oaks continue to be the most common.

Kunde Co., Inc. - Consulting Foresters 5
