CASE #3 <br /> <br />REVIEW/APPROVE DRAFT COMPREHENSIVE PARK AND TRAIL PLAN <br /> By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Review/a~Pproval of a revised draft Comprehensive Trail and Park Plan. As <br />you may [recall, the Commission approved the draft Trail Plan in June 1994, after <br />amendments, with the intent of adding the proposed parks element to it. <br /> <br />After the ~ark and Recreation Commission has reviewed the draft Comprehensive Trail and <br />Park Plan; it would go to the Planning Commission for comment, then to a public hearing <br />and to City Council for approval or amendment. The public hearing and City Council <br />action miry be concurrent with other planning documents such as land-use or a <br />transporta~on plan update. <br /> <br />You will [also recall that Mr. Bill Smith of Biko & Associates provided us a colored <br />working ¢~opy for the draft trail plan process and was to re-submit the plan based on the <br />changes r~commended at the June 9, 1994 meeting. A message was left for Mr. Smith <br />requestinl~ a meeting with Staff for inclusion and preparation of the proposed park plan <br />with the "0,xisting" draft trail plan for the September meeting. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission has requested that a member(s) of the Park and Recreation <br />Commission accompany Staff in presenting the 1994 draft Park and Trail Plan to the <br />Commissibn at their October meeting if possible. <br /> <br />The above baakground was provided within the August 31, 1994 memorandum, describing the <br />September 8, i1994 agenda. As of this writing, staff has not been in contact with Mr. Smith. <br />If contact is made, we will integrate the approved draft trail plan with modifications of the Park <br />Plan from tho~e shown on the 1991 adopted Park and Trail .Plan. If ample time is not available <br />prior to the rdeefing, staff will attempt to show proposed .modifications to the park areas for <br />Commission Consideration with a detailed map prepared later. <br /> <br />The resulting lflraft Comprehensive Park and Trail Plan may be available in time for receipt by <br />the Planning Commission at their regular October meeting.
