By: FOX NEIGHBORHOOD PARK Heidi Welsch, Community Development Intern Mark Boos, Parks and Utility Supervisor Background: Planning is taking place for a neighborhood park in the Fox Ridge Subdivision. The lot west of Potassium St. N,W. in Fox Ridge Estates was set aside as park dedication by the developers several years ago, Additionally, Outlot C, which contains wetland #2-323W and trail access, was deeded to the City of Ramsey on October 16, 1991, by the same developer. Almost all of Ou0ot C is wetland. In the northwest comer of Ouflot C is a trail access to Potassium St. N.W. and a small island with large trees and shrubs. A large portion of the park dedication lot is below the DNR ordinary high water level (OHW) of 871'. Additionally, an NSP powerline easement runs through the wetland from east to west across a portion of Outlot C and the park dedication lot. A budget of $65,500 has been assigned within the parks C.I.P. for 1995 to the proposed Fox Park. ReslSonse~ to the park survey administered to the neighborhood was overwhelmingly positive. Most respondents preferred children's play equipment and boardwalk/nature viewing facilities as top priorities. The draft plan has been drawn up with these considerations in mind.
