CASE # 3 <br /> <br />REVIEW RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE INTERVIEWING PANEL <br />BY: Kay McAIoney, Administrative Services Manager <br /> Dave Griffin, Fire Chief <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On July 25 and !uly 27, 1994 a panel consisting of Administrative Services Manager Kay <br />McAloney, Fire (3~ ief Dave Griffin and Assistant Fire Chief Dean Kapler reviewed applications <br />and interviewed n[n.e individuals interested in the position of Volunteer Fire Fighter with the City <br />of Ramsey. The p~tnel recommends to the Fire Board that two of the nine applicants be offered the <br />position of Volunteer Fire Fighter for daytime availability and further recommends that the <br />applications of th~ remaining applications be retained for future vacancies as night availability <br />positions become l~eeded. The applications for the recommended applicant is attached for you to <br />review. <br /> <br />A previous member of the Fire Department who was injured in October of 1990 had a physical <br />examination to rejoin the department. Jay Guimont was found "fit" for the position of Fire Fighter <br />and will rejoin theldepartment on September 7, 1994. <br /> <br />There was a verbM resignation received from an evening Fire Fighter during the week of August 8, <br />1994. The intervlewing panel would like to take the number one person on the list to fill the <br />position of the resigning Fire Fighter and begin employment examinations. <br /> <br />RecommendatiOn: <br /> <br />To approve the recommendations of the interviewing panel, offer the position of Volunteer Fire <br />Fighter to Kelly NCameyer and John Grewe and proceed with.pre-employment examinations. <br /> <br />To approve the re{:ommendation of the interviewing panel to pull one name from the top of the <br />night-time availability list. <br /> <br />Board Action: <br /> <br />To approve/not ~pprove the recommendation of the interviewing panel and forward that <br />recommendation tO the City Council at their next meeting. <br /> <br />To approve/not apProve the recommendation of the interviewing panel to pull one name from the <br />top of the night-tirae availability list. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Administrative Services Manager <br />Fire Chief~ <br />Assistant Fire Chief <br /> <br />FB:8/17/94 <br /> <br /> <br />
