She also told Ms. McAloney and Mr. Schroeder that they <br />did not really)sit down with the Fire Department and talk with them about the change, they <br />just said this Is the way it will be. She stated she has heard that from several people. <br /> <br />Fire Fighter S~pence acknowledged that he was one who felt that way. <br /> <br />Ms. McAlon~y stated that this was brought to the Fire Department. <br /> <br />Motion by C0uncilmember Beyer and seconded by Boardmember Simpson to table this <br />issue until thS~ere is more support information available and until an answer is received <br />regarding the~Assistant Chief as a two-year temporary work assignment position. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Boardmembers McLaughlin and <br />Wilson. : <br /> <br />Case #2: : Posting for Position of Fire Chief <br /> <br />Discussion o~f this case will be handled following more information received relating to <br />Case Itl. <br /> <br />Case #3: Review Recommendations of the Interviewing Panel <br /> <br />Fire Chief Griffin stated that Ms. McAloney, Assistant Fire Chief Kapler and he (Griffin) <br />reviewed applications and interviewed nine individuals interested in the position of <br />Volunteer Fi~e Fighter. The panel is recommending two of the applicants, Kelly Neameyer <br />and John Grdwe, be offered the position and be directed to proceed with pre-employment <br />examinations; <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gilbertson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to approve <br />recommending to Council, to offer the position of Volunteer Fire Fighter to Kelly <br />Neameyer an~ John Grewe and that they proceed with pre-employment examinations. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Beyer, Boardmembers <br />Pearson and5Simpson. Voting No: None. Absent: Boardmembers McLaughlin and <br />Wilson. <br /> <br />Ms. McAloney stated that the Fire Department received a verbal resignation from an <br />evemng Fire~ Fighter during the week of August 8, 1994.
