1994 RAMSEY RECYCLING DAY By: Jessie L. Hart, Finance Officer CASE Background: City Staff is curr~.tly planning the 1994 Recycling Day which is currently scheduled for Saturday, May 7, 1994. Tills year, in addition to the change in name, the activities will not include the acceptance of rubbish. This exclusion is due primarily to the closure of the landfill and will continue to encohrage residents who do not currently have refuse service to provide for this required service." The event will belheld at Cenn-al Park from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is illustrated on the attached map. The general Program will be as follows: Materials Accepted (without a fee): * Brown, green and clear glass * Scrap Metal * Corrugated Cardboard * Mixed Paper * Magazines * Newspapers * Useable household items for ACCAP Mater~l~ s Accepted (for a fee): * Passenger tires @ $2.00 per tire * Large tires @ a special fee * Fluorescent bulbs @ $1.00 per bulb - * Appliances @ $8.00 per appliance : * Air Conditioners @ $8.00 plus $10.00 surcharge Prepayment for n~taterials (tires, fluorescent bulbs, appliances) will be accepted on Friday, May 6, 1994 from 8:00 ~m. to 7:30 p.m. Fees will also be accepted at the entrance to the drop-off. No permits will be re{tuired if there are no special materials. Ace Solid Waste~ will provide for the collection of recyclables and fluorescent bulbs and other vendors are being sought to provide for the removal of the tires and appliances.
