CASE # ~ <br />REQUEST FOR DONATION TO BUSINESS LANDFILL COALITION <br /> ! By: .Jessie Hart, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The attached letter was recently received from Peter Turok of the Anoka Area Chamber of <br />Commerce and i~ requesting funding from the City of Ramsey for the Business Landfill Coalition. <br /> <br />The Anoka Area <br />organizations and <br />meaningful legisl <br />established to fu~ <br />established in res' <br /> <br />Chamber of Commerce has grouped together with other chambers and business <br />formed the Business Land~l Coalition which has been dedicated to getting some <br />ation passed concerning the clean-up of landfills in Minnesota. The coalition was <br />ad lobbying efforts for alternatives to the Superfund Cleanup. This effort was <br />~onse to the Oak Grove cleanup. <br /> <br />The coalition is ~tsking for a donation of $500.00 from the City of Ramsey. To date, over 140 <br />businesses and pl~blie entities have sent in money in response to this issue.
