REDLINEr'
HealthCarel

Delivering Excellence

May 17 1994

XVIII B Mecll Marl

Red Line Medical Supply
America'~ Medical M;t'l~t Place

Mr. Mark BoOs
City of Ramsey
15153 Nowtlten Boulevard NW
Ramsey, MNi 55303

Dear Mark:

in our meeting] yesterday with the residents of Sunny Ponds, Commissioner
Henn and I were able to develop a list of residents' priorities to be included in
the RFP for I~layground equipment in Solstice Park.

Considering t;he sketch plan you presented and the neighborhood's dose
proximity to tt~e elementary school, it was determined that the immediate needs
of children si~years and older are adequately met. Consequently, the
playground e~luipment for Solstice Park should focus on the needs of children
2-5 years oldi with any future expansion focusing on children in the six and up
age group.

For our discussion, we used the catalog provided by Landscape Structures, Inc.,
and referred tp Item #9333 on pages 50-51. This particular unit was within the
price range a~d gave us a starting point from which to add and delete items.
The resident~ really liked this set up and decided that 2-3 different types of
slides of vary~.bg heights are an absolute priority. Their preference is that one or
two of the slic~s be 72" high and involve some element of excitement such as a
tube, corkscrew, or wave. The other slide should be a 36" high double (side-by-
side) slide.

With regard to~ panels and peripherals, the consensus in preferential order, was
for taJk tubes, ia steering wheel, and a ball maze (page 62).

The residents',also, wanted the Commission to know that if there is any future
expansion to lJhe play equipment, they would like tunnels added. Perhaps a
connection be!ween the two phases.

8121 10th Avenue North, Golden Valley, MN 55427 (612) 545-5757 FAX (612) 545-B207

/I
