Councilmember [ RESOLUTION PURCHASE OF DEPARTMENT introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #94-10- AUTHORIZING A BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR THE SIX ADDITIONAL MINI-RECORDERS FOR THE POLICE WHERtlAS, the Minnesota Supreme Court decreed that all statements taken from in- custody persons tinust be recorded and the recording retained; and WHEREAS, it is necessary that all police officers be provided with adequate means to make these recordings; and WHERIilAS, at the Council's Finance Committee meeting of October 25, 1994, staff presented a requelst for the purchase of six additional mini-recorders for the Police Department; and WHEREAS, the funding in an amount not-to-exceed $630.00 is available through budget reallocati;ons from account #42261-2211 to #45560-2211 in the Adopted 1994 General Fund Budget; an4t WHERIilAS, the Finance Committee approved this recommendation and hereby recommends tha! the Ramsey City Council authorize the purchase and funding sources as detailed within this resolution. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY,iANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the [Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of six additional mini- recorders'.at a price not-to-exceed $630.00. 2) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the budget reallocation of funds in the Adopted !994 General Fund Budget as detailed in thins resolution. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was du}y seconded by Councilmember and [upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted again,st the same: and the following were absent: and the following abstained: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 25th day of October, 1994.
