February 24~ 1994

Mr. Ben De*ruer
Chairperson.~
Board of Adjustment
City of l~m~ey

Dear Mr. Deemer,

As you may .know, I am in year 15 of a 5 year home remodeling project. To complete the
project I must construct an addition on the West side of my home. Unfortunately Anoka
County condemned additional right of way, moved the road closer to my home and
induced Ran~sey to increase their setback requirements. Because of theses events the
planned addition now requires a minor variance.

I request a 2,5' variance from the new 110' setback requirements. If granted, this would
produce an 95' setback from the centerline of Kamsey Boulevard which is greater than the
83' recommended by Ramsey's Planning and Zoning Commission. It is also noteworthy
that the plato)ed addition would be only slightly closer to the centerline of Ramsey
Boulevard than the North West comer of my existing garage.

As you can sge from the attached diagram the addition will not extend further to the South
than the sou0p wall of the present structure. Because the addition will not be any closer to
the South prgperty line than the present structure and the fight of way is well defined by
Anoka Courtly I see no value to be gained _fi, om another survey. In addition to the
requested va{'iance I request Anoka County s right of way survey be accepted in lieu ora
certificate ofisurvey and the centerline of the road be used to verify the requested 85'
setback.

Sincerely,
