CC Work Session 2. 3. <br />Meeting Date: 01/17/2012 <br />By: MaryJo Warner, Engineering /Public <br />Works <br />Title: <br />Consider Strategic Development Proposal for North Commons <br />Background: <br />On several occasions in 2011, City Council or the HRA discussed different development scenarios for 'North <br />Commons'. The most recent was for the creation of lots on the west side of the City owned parcel which would <br />generate revenue for the capital costs for a modest neighborhood park. In summary, the lot creation was determined <br />to not be economically feasible at this time. <br />Observations: <br />The purpose of this case is to look strategically at the convergence of several Council priorities that may make the <br />case for the development of North Commons, and provide some or all of the revenue for the capital costs and not <br />significantly change the City's existing maintenance obligations.
