<br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #08-08-165 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SKATEPARK PLAZA <br />FOR ALPINE PARK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> Ramsey City Council recognizes the importance of Parks, Open Space and <br />Recreation to the quality of life for Ramsey residents; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />Alpine Park is intended to serve these needs as both a Community Park and <br />; <br />as a neighborhood resource and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />Community and Neighborhood Parks require areas for play and physical <br />; <br />development of childrenand <br /> <br />WHEREAS, ; <br />a skatepark facility is a feature identified as a need in the communityand <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , Alpine Park has been identified as the best location within the city, and bids <br />were received for the desired skatepark plaza; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , North Country Concrete of Ramsey was determined to be the low bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />That, up to one hundred and thirty nine thousand and seven hundred and ninety seven dollars <br />($139,797), are hereby allocated from the Lawful Gambling Fund to provide for the skatepark <br />plaza’s development. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember, <br />Jeffrey and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Dehn <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />none <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />none <br />RESOLUTION 08-08-165 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
