Councilmember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #05-08-285 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #05-23, EBONY STREET AND UTILITY TH IMPROVEMENTS BETWEEN 137 AVENUE AND RIVERDALE DRIVE WHEREAS, on May 24, 2005, City Council adopted Resolution #05-05-147 approving the plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project #05-23, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the five quotes that were received: Bidder Amount of Bid W.B. Miller, Inc. $247,795.05 Dave Perkins Contracting $248,158.00 Volk Sewer & Water $271,667.70 Dryden Excavating $276,568.69 Jay Brothers $287,618.63 AND WHEREAS, it appears that W.B. Miller, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1)That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with W.B. Miller, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of Improvement Project #05-23 Ebony Street Improvements in the amount of $247,795.05. 2)That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
