Councilmember Pearson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #03-01-026 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TITLE CHANGE FOR TIM DWYER, FIREST <br />SERGEANT TO CAPTAIN <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Council authorized the reorganization of the Police Department at <br />their regular meeting of January 28, 2003; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Tim Dwyer has served as First Sergeant since December of 2002 following <br />the promotion of James Way to the position of Police Chief; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the position of Captain will reflect the same duties as First Sergeant and <br />define more clearly the role of second in command within the Department <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to change the title for Tim Dwyer, First Sergeant to Captain <br />effective with the authorized reorganization of the Police Department. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That Mr. Dwyer will be compensated at the same annual salary for the position of <br />Captain. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council member <br />Elvig, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember <br />Councihnember <br />Councilmember <br />Councilmember <br />Councilmember <br /> <br />Pearson <br />Elvig <br />Kurak <br />Stommen <br />Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook <br /> <br /> <br />
