Councilmember Pearson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #03-01-027 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PROMOTION OF THOMAS LUECK TO THE POSITION OF SERGEANT WHEREAS, City Council authorized the reorganization of the Police Department at their regular meeting of January 28, 2003; and WHEREAS, Thomas Lueck is currently serving as Corporal as a result of a promotion in December 2002;and WHEREAS, Thomas Lueck was appointed to the position of Corporal after an internal recruitment process that included testing for the position of Sergeant and interviews; and WHEREAS, with the authorized reorganization the position of Corporal will be replaced with an additional Sergeant position to provide supervision for each of the shifts conducted daily by the Department; and WHEREAS, Thomas Lueck is qualified for the position of Sergeant and is recommended for the promotion to the position of Sergeant by the Police Chief. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to promote Thomas Lueck to position of Sergeant at an annual rate of $59,347 effective with the authorized reorganization of the Police Department. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council member Elvig, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Pearson Councilmember Elvig Councilmember Kurak Councilmember Stommen Councilmember Zimmerman and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None
