Councilmember Pearson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #03-01-027A <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING COMTRIBUTION TOWARD COST OF EMPLOYEE <br />LAW ENFORCEMENT EMPLOYEE LABOR SERVICES GROUP HEALTH <br />INSURANCE BENEFITS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey must attract and retain quality employees to serve the <br />community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, competitively priced health insurance is an essential benefit necessary to <br />effectively compete for quality employees; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the collective bargaining agreements between the City and it's employee <br />union, LELS requires that we negotiate the city contribution toward health insurance benefits; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the administration has negotiated with the LELS UNION and reached 'a <br />tentative agreement regarding the city contribution toward the cost of health insurance benefits. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br /> Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />A) <br /> <br />B) <br /> <br />Provide a contribution of up to $376.00 toward the cost of single health insurance <br />coverage for LELS employees and, <br />Provide a contribution of up to $598.00 toward the cost of family health <br />insurance coverage for eligible LELS employees <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council member <br />Elvig, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Stommen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
