Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #03-03-078 RESOLUTION IMPROVEMENT STATION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR PROJECT #3-21, CONSTRUCTION OF SUNWOOD DRIVE LIFT WHEREAS, on March 11, 2003, City Council adopted Resolution approving the plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and #03-03-062 WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project #03-21, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the six lowest quotes that were received: Bidder Hydrocon, Inc. Penn Contracting, Inc. J.R. Ferche, Inc. CCS Contracting, Inc. AmountofBid $133,770.00 $149,060.00 $160,665.00 $161,120.00 Engineers Estimate $115,000 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Hydrocon, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Hydrocon, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of Improvement Project #03-21 in the amount of $133,770.00. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
