Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #03-06-147 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 2003 PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - DIVISION A CRACKSEALING AND SEALCOATING (IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #03-01, #03-02, #03-03, #03-04 AND #03-05) WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, the R amsey City Council approved the plans and specifications and the advertisement for bids for the above-referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 2003 Street Maintenance Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on June 6, 2003; and WHEREAS, the following bids were received for the 2003 Street Maintenance Program Division A Cracksealing and Sealcoating: Bidder Amount of Bid Pearson Bros. Inc. Allied Blacktop Co. ASTECH Engineer's Estimate $80,947.50 $82,012.25 $120,449.85 $91,609.00 AND WHEREAS, Pearson Bros. Inc., is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Pearson Bros. Inc., in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 2003 Pavement Maintenance Program - Division A, Cracksealing and Sealcoating (Improvement Projects #03-01, #03-02, #03-03, #03-04 and #03-05), in the amount of $80,947.50.
