Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #03-06-147A <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 2003 <br />PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - DIVISION B BITUMINOUS OVERLAY <br />(IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #03-06, #03-07) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council authorized the preparation of plans and <br />specifications for the above referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council approved the plans and specifications and the <br />advertisement for bids for the above-referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 2003 Pavement Maintenance <br />Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on June 6, 2003; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the following bids were received for the 2003 Pavement Maintenance <br />Program - Bituminous Overlay: <br /> <br />Bidder Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Universal Enterprises of Mid-Mn <br />Bauerly Companies <br />NW Asphalt <br />North Valley Inc. <br />Hardrives <br />Midwest Asphalt <br />Pearson Bros. Inc. <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />$197,388.35 <br />$208,899.07 <br />$213,096.98 <br />$213,212.75 <br />$218,536.86 <br />$235,191.60 <br />$270,216.55 <br />$222,617.00 <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, Universal Enterprises of Mid-MN is the lowest responsible bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Universal Enterprises of Mid-MN in the name of the City of Ramsey for the <br />2003 Pavement Maintenance Program - Bituminous Overlay Division B (Improvement <br />Projects #03-06 and #03-07) in the amount of $197,388.35. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Elvig, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br /> <br /> <br />
