Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #03-06-147A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 2003 PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - DIVISION B BITUMINOUS OVERLAY (IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #03-06, #03-07) WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council approved the plans and specifications and the advertisement for bids for the above-referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 2003 Pavement Maintenance Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on June 6, 2003; and WHEREAS, the following bids were received for the 2003 Pavement Maintenance Program - Bituminous Overlay: Bidder Amount of Bid Universal Enterprises of Mid-Mn Bauerly Companies NW Asphalt North Valley Inc. Hardrives Midwest Asphalt Pearson Bros. Inc. Engineer's Estimate $197,388.35 $208,899.07 $213,096.98 $213,212.75 $218,536.86 $235,191.60 $270,216.55 $222,617.00 AND WHEREAS, Universal Enterprises of Mid-MN is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Universal Enterprises of Mid-MN in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 2003 Pavement Maintenance Program - Bituminous Overlay Division B (Improvement Projects #03-06 and #03-07) in the amount of $197,388.35.
