North Metro Mayor's Association. The NMMA met this week and discussed efforts to address <br />proposed changes in the fiscal disparities law. The City of Ramsey, and most Anoka County <br />communities, are net receivers of fiscal disparities funds and could potentially be harmed by any <br />legislative changes. Attached is a paper produced by NMMA outlining the issues for northern <br />suburban communities in regard to this issue. In addition, the City is now participating fully in <br />the NMMA joint buyers group for the purchase of office and industrial supplies. In many cases, <br />this cooperative effort among cities and their business partners allows us to make purchases even <br />below state bids. Attached is a list of the volume of purchases made by each community and the <br />business partners. Police ammunition and supplies are the next items currently being considered <br />to be purchase under this program. Attached to the Weekly Update is a paper produced by <br />NMMA outlining the issues for northern suburban communities in regard Fiscal Disparities. <br />Rail Station project. The Rail station project remains on- track, and with the opening of bids this <br />past week, plus the savings from the BNSF negotiation, the project promises to be 20% below the <br />original budget.
