Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #03-08-223 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #3-31, GRADING AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS FOR SUNFISH LAKE BUSINESS PARK WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project #03-31, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the seven lowest quotes that were received: Bidder Amount of Bid Twin Pines Construction 47,195 Sauter & Sons 48,920 Dennis Fehn Gravel & Excavating 49,621 W.B. Miller 61,855 Dryden Excavating 63,410 Dave Perkins Construction 64,625 Don Zappa and Son 66,544 Engineers Estimate $49,020 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Twin Pines Construction is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1)That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Twin Pines Construction in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of Improvement Project #03-31 in the amount of $47,195 2)That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Elvig, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Kurak Councilmember Elvig Councilmember Cook Councilmember Pearson Councilmember Strommen Councilmember Zimmerman
