POSITION TITLE: <br />DEPARTMENT: <br />POSITION TITLE OF <br />IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR: <br />FLSA STATUS: <br />CITY OF RAMSEY POSITION ANALYSIS <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br />Information Technology Manager <br />Administrative Services <br />Exempt <br />Under the general direction of the Assistant City Administrator, directs the <br />operation of the City's information technology environment including network, <br />server and desktop support, application development, website development and <br />maintenance, project management and related duties as requested. Work is <br />performed independently with guidance and direction from the Assistant City <br />Administrator. <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />Deputy City Administrator/ <br />Community Development Director <br />Administration <br />• Responsible for Information Technologies including networks, computer <br />hardware and software, telephone system, internal computer applications an <br />WAN connections to remote sites. <br />• Responsible for general oversight including records storage of technology <br />hardware, applications, printing and imaging. <br />• Makes recommendations for the selection of vendors and consultants, mo itors <br />their performance according to contract or agreement. Coordinates information <br />management technology services among departments and with external sources <br />such as vendors and consultants. <br />• Develops information technology policies, security procedures and strategic plans <br />for data warehousing sharing, applications architecture, technical infrastructure <br />and decision support systems. <br />• Identifies computer training .eels and designs, conducts, provides or coordinates <br />appropriate training. Arranges for outside trainers to train City staff when <br />appropriate. <br />• Writes routine correspondence and reports as well as complex materials such as <br />proposals, justifications, recommendations, and bids. <br />• Manages the hardware and software systems specific to Public Safety, including <br />Intranet connections to state databases, multi-jurisdictional records management <br />Page 1 of 8 <br />
