Part One: Overall Framewor <br />There are a number of framework standards that apply to the entire COR, including recommendations <br />for stormwater management, parks, streets, land use, parking, transit and other development <br />components. Many of these overall COR framework standards overlap, or are integrated with one <br />another. For ease of discussion they are categorized according to the same list of 'layers' that formed <br />the basic structure for the Master Framework: <br />• Context – local, city, regional <br />• Street Hierarchy -- access, circulation, arrangement <br />• Streetscape— preferred design, location <br />• Parking -- quantity, location, type <br />• Building Design -- preferred uses, horizontal /vertical mixed use, built form, character of <br />development <br />• Signage— design, location, quantity, type <br />• Stormwater Management -- surface water features, stormwater management <br />• Parks /Public Spaces – parks, trails and open space <br />It is essential that proposed design solutions for development projects and other improvements within <br />The COR demonstrate an understanding of the interplay between these layers. <br />Design Framework — The COR Page 2 <br />February 1, 2012 <br />
