PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, September <br />4, 1990 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />regarding a request for a conditional use permit to manufacture boat covers and portable fish <br />houses in the B-1 Business District by Stephen Franta of C & L Canvas Crafts. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, Chairman <br />Mr. Benjamin Deemer <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Michael Terry <br />Mr. Bradley Thorud <br />Mr. David Bawden <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />City Engineer Steven Jankowski <br />Mr. Merland Otto, Hakanson Anderson Associates <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Mr. Stephen Franta was present and stated that he is currently leasing property for his <br />manufacturing/retail operation on Highway #10 near the Elk River border. Mr. Franta explained <br />that he needs to expand his facility for the manufacturing of boat covers and portable fish houses <br />and has acquired property in Alpaca Estates on which he proposed to build a new facility. Mr. <br />Franta stated that he is seeking the City's approval to conduct manufacturing operations in the B-1 <br />Business District. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Bawden and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to adjourn the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Bawden, LaDue, Deemer, <br />Hendriksen, Terry and Thorud.
