Residents have been invited to attend the Mayor's meeting on <br />Monday, March 12, at 7:00 p.m. to learn more on the City -Owned Lands Inventory, and <br />specifically to comment on the proposal to sell Peltzer Park and relocate the play equipment from <br />there. The Ramsey Resident with an article on the above was delivered this week to homes, and <br />additionally, a special mailing went to addresses around the Peltzer Park neighborhood. Staff has <br />had several inquiries to date, with no negative tenor, and some stated interest in purchasing <br />land(s). Council may take the first formal action on the Peltzer Park matter by the introduction of <br />an Ordinance, authorizing the sale of the lot as soon as of March 27, 2012. <br />Local Road Improvement Grant. On February 17, 2012, the City of Ramsey received notice <br />that we were selected for bond funding under the Routes of Regional Significance account <br />through the Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) for the fiscal year 2012/2013 biennium. <br />The state legislature approved $10 million in state transportation bond funds to assist local <br />authorities in paying for constructing or reconstructing local road projects with statewide or <br />regional significance. City staff identified two projects, which are tied to the Armstrong <br />Boulevard/Highway 10 interchange, for potential funding assistance; the Sunwood Drive <br />realignment, and Riverdale Drive extension. The City has been awarded up to $500,000 for the <br />Sunwood Drive realignment project, which construction costs are estimated at $3.1 million, <br />through the solicitation process. Eligibility criteria for projects included: <br />• The projects must be approved for construction letting by June 2013 <br />• The road improvement must qualify as regionally significant <br />• The project must correct a transportation deficiency and incorporate a safety strategy as <br />part of the proposed improvement project <br />• Funding is capped at $500,000. <br />
