Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #12-03-XXX <br />RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE MULTI CITY (RAMSEY, ANOKA, ANDOVER, <br />CHAMPLIN, AND COON RAPIDS) BEYOND THE YELLOW RIBBON CAMPAIGN <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is home to many military service members serving <br />overseas defending the values and freedoms we hold dear; and <br />WHEREAS, the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campaign originated with the Minnesota <br />National Guard and seeks to create a voluntary, comprehensive community network that <br />connects and coordinates agencies, organizations, resources, and employers for the purpose of <br />meeting the needs of military members and their families; and <br />WHEREAS, the Multi -City Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campaign is in the process of <br />forming and intends to connect local military families with assistance and support from all parts <br />of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the Multi -City Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campaign Kickoff Event is <br />scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Green Haven Golf & Banquet <br />Center, 2800 Greenhaven Road, Anoka, where citizens and community organizations may learn <br />more about the initiative. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby proclaims the City of Ramsey' s wholehearted <br />support of the Multi -City Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Campaign. <br />2) That the Ramsey City Council on behalf of the City of Ramsey expresses to all of our <br />military members and their families the deepest of appreciation for the sacrifices they <br />make. <br />That the motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 13th day of March 2012. <br />Bob Ramsey, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />
