PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, January 3, <br />1989 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />regarding the proposed ordinance to place a 6 month moratorium on commercial burning and <br />incineration. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, Chairman <br />Mr. Roy Shumway <br />Mr. Terry Hendriksen <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Mr. Jim Howell <br />Mr. Michael Terry <br /> <br />Aisc Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />Community Development Director Mark Banwart <br />Merland Otto/Hakanson Anderson Associates <br /> <br />Members Absent: Mr. Jim Holm <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 8:25 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Sharon Dahlgren - 6328 143rd Lane - Stated that there was not sufficient prior notification of <br />this public hearing and citizens are not prepared and have not been consulted regarding an <br />ordinance regulating commercial incineration. <br /> <br />Mr. Hadley noted that the purpose of this hearing is to consider adopting an ordinance that <br />establishes a moratorium on incineration, not sets the standards for commercial incineration. <br />The moratorium is a zoning matter and a pre-requisite to adopting an ordinance establishing the <br />actual regulations for incineration.
