The Bulletin keeps members informed of <br />legislative activities. <br /> LMC is a member of the National League of Cities. which <br />represents thc local view in Cougress. <br /> <br />Information services <br /> The League general counsel and research staff answer local <br />government questions. <br /> Information memos on state and federal laws or applicable <br />technology are available. <br /> The League has use of an extensive library, of ordinances, cily <br />charters, and literature on local government. <br /> LMC updates the Handbook for Minnesota Cities each year. It <br />is a comprehensive and authoritative work, covering all aspects of <br />city government. <br /> <br />Magazine <br /> All member-city officials receive Minnesota Cities, a monthly <br />publication for and about cities, which contains articles on issues <br />and problems of concern to city officials. <br /> <br />Conferences <br /> The League holds an annual conference for city officials to <br />discuss concerns and elect officers. <br /> Regional meetings in the fall give city officials a chance Io <br />exchange ideas and information. <br /> An annual legislative action conference, for discussing <br />legislalion, takes place during each legislative session. <br /> A policy adoption meeling takes place in November. <br /> <br />Training <br /> LMC participates in the Government Training Service, which <br />provides training programs for city officials. <br /> <br />Services . <br /> Thc League sponsors special conferences and seminars on <br />specific problems and issues. <br /> <br />Field service <br /> A field representative visits member cities on a continuing basis <br />to assist with local problems, and to collect materials to share with <br />other cities. <br /> <br />Insurance <br /> Through the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust <br />(LMCIT), the League offers workers' compensation, proper- <br />fy/casualty, group health, and group dental coverage to member <br />cities. <br /> <br />Directory of city officials <br /> The Directory of Minnesota Municipal Officials is an annual <br />list of elected officials and department heads in every city. <br /> The directory includes population, state legislative and <br />congressional districts, form of government, council meeting day, <br />and city hall telephone numbers. <br /> <br />CLEAR <br /> The City Lawyer Exchange Aid and Repository is a set,ce to <br />subscribing city attorneys providing legal research and assistance. <br />and a brief bank to track municipal law in Minnesota courts. <br /> <br />MAP <br />. Thc Municipal Amicus Program offers support to cities that are <br />involved in litigation that may have significant statewide impact on <br />Minnesota's cities. ~' <br /> <br />Equipment loan program <br /> The League sponsors a program to provide cities with Iow-cost <br />funds for equipment purchases. <br /> <br />4M Fund <br /> The League-sponsored Minnesota Municipal Money Market <br />Fund ('the 4M Fund') offers a short-term investment alternative <br />to citics. <br /> <br /> <br />
