Councilmember Wise introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #12 -02 -028 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF TAX FORFEIT PROPERTY FOR <br />PARK PURPOSES <br />WHEREAS, Outlot K, Ramsey Town Center 8 Addition, Anoka County, Minnesota, <br />PIN # 28- 32 -25 -21 -0036, has forfeited to the State of Minnesota for non - payment of taxes (the <br />"Subject Property "); and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has designated the Subject Property for park and <br />recreational purposes and said property is adjacent to a similarly designed park property; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the City to acquire the Subject <br />Property to protect the existing park and ensure future maintenance and use of the Subject <br />Property. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the May and City Administrator are hereby authorized to complete the application <br />for a state use deed and any other necessary paperwork to secure ownership of the Subject <br />Property for park purposes. <br />2) The Council hereby authorizes payment of the cost to acquisition and recording of the tax <br />deed, estimated at $325.00. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Backous, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Backous <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />Councilmember Tossey <br />Councilmember Wise <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />
