Ramsey Fire Department <br />Year End Report for 2011 <br />Emergency Response <br />2011 was witness to a slight increase in activity for the Fire Department. This figure included 13 <br />structure fires. 2011 had an active wild land fire season with 31 incidents requiring response. <br />During the summer, 2 separate storms generated activity with 22 total responses for power line <br />issues. <br />• Total calls tallied 483 for 2011. This compares to 481for 2010, 453 in 2009 and 491for <br />2008. A history of call volume to 1993 is presented later in the report. <br />• Personal Injury accidents, as in the past, continue as the single biggest source of activity <br />with 104. This number represents 22% of total responses. This compares to 129 in <br />2010 and 115 in 2009. Responses included 7 vehicle extrications, 20 Cardiac Arrests <br />and 6 lift assists. <br />• Alarms were again the second largest activity with 95 calls for service, representing 20% <br />of the total, up from 73 in 2010 and 82 in 2009. <br />• Illegal burning was again the third largest at 36, or 7% of the total. This figure stayed <br />close to 2010 with 37 responses. <br />• Responses to Nowthen totaled 72 in 2011 this is in comparison to 2010 with 76 <br />responses. This includes 3 structure fires, 12 Personal Injury Accidents and 11 alarms. <br />The Nowthen numbers are included in the totals above. <br />In 2011 Ramsey Fire continued to utilize the Duty Officer response to a total of 171 calls. This <br />compares to 175 in 2010 and 167 in 2009. This response sends 1-2 fire officers to less drastic <br />incidents rather than a full department response. Types of calls were some alarm calls, illegal <br />burning, resident questions, carbon monoxide alarms, etc. <br />
