May Planning Commission Meeting. The Planning Commission will meet on Thursday, May <br />3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers to consider the following requests: <br />• Request for a Conditional Use Permit to Process Demolition Concrete in the E -2 <br />Employment District Located at 6651 141 Ave NW; Case of Sauter & Sons, Inc. <br />• Request for a Variance to Platting Requirements at 7040 173 Ave NW; Case of <br />Makowsky Family Farm, LLC <br />Council Update <br />New Business. Staff received an on -sale, Sunday, and 2:00 a.m. liquor license application for <br />Whiskey Jacks, 6415 Highway #10 NW (most recently known as End Zone). Staff contacted the <br />applicant to let him know the process is moving forward, and the Council will hold a public <br />hearing on May 22. <br />Parks are for People. Parks are for People, and parks are also a part of the community's <br />economic equation. This past Saturday, (April 21 two fund raising events proceeded despite <br />the late morning rain using Ramsey's park and trail system. The Draw was the venue for the <br />area's first Bark for Life event, a pet walk with proceeds donated to the American Cancer <br />Society. Quoting the event's organizer within her e -mail report: "The event was absolutely <br />amazing! We raised $8,304! ® SO SO SO fabulous! Here's a link to our slide show on You <br />Tube: http: / /www.youtube.com /watch ?v= Qn06uOao0EY We did rain out at 11:30, but we were <br />able to get through most of the event. Regardless, it was awesome! O" The event was also shown <br />on Channel 5 TV News (and is on their web site). The Bark for Life people have requested to <br />hold the same fundraiser next year on April 20 <br />The Lake Itasca Trail was the subject of a fund raiser for the Elk River High School Grad Night <br />Party, with 80 participants starting at 167 Avenue, and running south to the Trail Head and <br />back again for a 5K fun run. The trail event netted a whopping $1,700 for the overnight party <br />expenses at the high school. Good Luck and Well Wishes ERRS 2012 Graduates! <br />PACT Charter School Tour. On Wednesday, April 18, 48 PACT Charter School third grade <br />students toured the Ramsey Municipal Center. City Administrator, Kurt Ulrich, along with <br />several department heads, presented to students and acted as tour guides. Attached to the weekly <br />update is a flyer outlining the PACT Charter School Tour.
