CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a special meeting on Wednesday, January 3, 1990 at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Richard Cich <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Stephen F. DeLuca <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called the special City Council meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. and led in the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />County Commissioner Natalie Steffen - 7007 164th Lane N.W. - Stated she was present to <br />show the City Council the award Anoka County received at the national Keep America <br />Beautiful convention in Washington D.C. The award received was in the category of <br />'Taking Pride In Public Lands'. Natalie noted that Ramsey City Staff member, Jim <br />Gromberg, and one of her staff persons, Jill Brown, nominated Anoka County's adopt a <br />river campaign to clean up the Rum River this past spring. Natalie stated that the award <br />was presented to Anoka County by the Secretary of Interior at a luncheon with 500-600 <br />people present and 5 T.V. stations covering the event. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted that part of the agenda includes his performance review, which must be <br />conducted as a closed meeting according to recent interpretations of the open meeting law <br />and data practices act; if there is any action to take place following the performance <br />evaluation, the open meeting must be called back to order. <br /> <br />Council noted several items to be discussed during Mayor and Council input which include <br />inauguration event at the national sports center in Blaine, 1990 goals, an ordinance <br />prohibiting minors from purchasing cigarettes, telephone access at City Hail after hours, <br />library signage. <br /> <br />City Council/January 3, 1990 <br /> Page 2 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
